BEYOND THE FIRST DRAFT

CUSTOM DESIGNED INDIVIDUAL GUIDANCE

Beyond the First Draft is a power packed three-month program of personal support, guidance and feedback to aid you in moving beyond the rough draft stage of your story to a polished manuscript that incorporates the elements from the four core courses in the Techniques of the Pros module. This is not a Yahoo class, and to ensure each student receives personal attention, the number of students is limited. A waiting list will be established. If you enroll, this is what I will do:

Coach you through the entire manuscript to revise and refine.

I will read your ms in three segments (100 pages per month) and produce an email report to give you constructive feedback on your rough draft, tell you what works and what doesn't, make suggestions on changes or additions. This is based on a 300 page manuscript. Manuscripts with more or less words will be adjusted accordingly.

One-on-one phone coaching after each report is delivered to help you apply the advice in the report.

Guidance through email while you make changes. (sessions will be arranged at a time convenient for both of us)

Send you periodic writers' tips and articles to inform or inspire, as needed.

Whether you're working on your first book or are a seasoned writer, I will help you make the most of your writing talents.

I am also offering smaller segments for those who don't wish to submit an entire manuscript, and also a segment on the Synopsis and First Three Chapters.

Synopsis and the First Three Chapters Coaching &, content edit — useful since ongoing problems usually show up in the first few chapters. Up to four weeks of feedback (1, 2, 4 & 5 above)	$95

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are there prerequisites?

Yes. Students must have completed the four core courses from The Techniques of the Pros. I may make an exception for more experienced writers who provide a significant work sample. In addition, a rough outline or synopsis is necessary for me to get an idea of your voice, style and vision for the story.

What you'll take with you when you're done

In Beyond the First Draft you will take away the ability to translate and incorporate the elements from the Techniques of the Pros core courses into compelling fiction...and you will have accomplished what many only dream of accomplishing. You will have produced a polished, marketable manuscript.

How do I enroll?

Since the program has limitations on the number of registrants, email me first at bootcamp4novelists2@yahoo.com, put BEYOND THE FIRST DRAFT in the subject line, and let me know which module you'd like to take. I'll let you know if there's still space and then you can pay through paypal as you would the regular courses. If you have questions on the modules, I'll be happy to answer them. If you're sure you want to sign up, do it quickly because the program is limited.

If you don't meet the prerequisites right now, there's still time to slip into Bootcamp 2P,which began January 6th, and the do the remaining two and be ready for the next session in April.

What I don't provide In this program, I do not provide copy editing, line editing, or proofreading services. I'll use track changes and the comment function in Word to make suggestions, give examples and show you where you will need to make changes. I do not do them for you.
